Tulsa Transit

I’m looking at doing a design/research piece on public transit in Tulsa. I’m looking for people:

  • with experience using public transit in Tulsa. Complaints? Praise? Ideas?
  • with opinions on the future of public transit in Tulsa and the Tulsa region.
  • with experience using more successful public transit systems. What made them work well for you?

If you’re interested in contributing just click ‘contact’ at the top of the blog, or reply to this post.

And then of course, if you’re still looking for ways to bulk up your Saturday and also don’t want to pay the 30 some dollars to participate in the McNellie’s pub run (or you’re just out of shape and worry you might potentially be out of breath and retching up your Guinness by the time you cross the finish line…), Tulsa’s Philbrook Museum is having a free second Saturday tomorrow. No cost for admission and doors will open at 10 am.

That’s right: The “New and Improved” Tulsa World website is using:
Comic Sans (a font which should never see the light of day on a website claiming to have any kind of integrity whatsoever)
Image Maps (a web technology that’s been outdated for probably ten years)
What’s next, animated .gifs?
The really sad thing about this? They expect people to pay for this content. Which, as I’ve mentioned, wouldn’t be so bad if the content/site was better.

Oh my. Not surprising, but still just as shameful as ever.
